Born in 1951, the all-Australian "ute" quickly became the hottest selling ute in Australia. Its combination of performance, rugged durability and comfort set the standard for utes for many years to come. By 1954, General Motors-Holden's Limited had perfected their beloved ute, and this vehicle offered crisp performance, exceptional surefootedness on the worst unpaved roads, as well as "passenger car riding comfort" and a cabin big enough for a young couple and their child. From the outside, the 1954 Holden FJ/2106 Utility changed very little from the original design, except with regard to the front grille. Consistent with other Holdens of the time, the grille was changed from the original Holden design to a more contemporary American look. Your die-cast replica recaptures a rich Mariner Blue ute with bright upholstery inside. |
